Here are some of the big mid-season signings this season which has changed the course of the club and their aim as well.
Pienaar
signed from Everton to Tottenham at the start of the season but was unable to
continue his form there. So he was loaned back to his former club. But his
return has provided David Moyes’s side a big boost. With 3 goals and 4 assists after his arrival, he has been influential
and regular in the Everton side, which makes him one of the top mid-season
signings this season.
Pavel Pogrebnyak
He has been
the second best player in the second half of the season for inconsistent Fulham,
of course Dempsey being first. His 6
goals this season has all led to win for Fulham.
Paul Scholes
The return of
Paul Scholes from retirement is more than a big signing for united. It will be
hard to find the similar player of his caliber in the premier league for years.
He has proved it himself of what he is capable of. After his arrival this
season, out of 15 games, Manchester
United have won 12, drawn 2 and lost 1.
So the stats speaks of what he can do.
Gylfi Sigurdsson
Another great
signing this season is Gylfi Sigurdsson. Swansea City played “the beautiful
football” throughout the first half of the season but lacked the finishing in
important games, especially away games. These both factors were to overcome by
one signing and that was of Sigurdsson. So far he has been a brilliant asset to
the Premier League side by scoring 7
goals, 6 of them away from home, with 4 assists.
Papiss Cisse
He can be
called the signing of the season, instead of half season. 11 goals and 2 assists in 10 games this season, 9 goals being score in
his last 6 matches, has taken the Newcastle side to fourth and in race forthe Champions League football.
