UEFA Euro Team Watch – Sweden



Sweden qualified in the competition below Netherlands in the qualifiers. They are going in the tournament with the force of goal machine Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They face tough opponents, in group D, as France and England.

Past Records in Euro
Sweden entered their first European tournament as hosts in 1992. They were able to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
However, they did not qualify for Euro 1996, held in England.
Sweden entered the finals of the tournament in 2000 Euro impressively but were unable to progress to the quarter-finals.
In Euro 2004, Sweden started the group games with a 5-0 win over Bulgaria to reach the quarter-finals, where they lost in penalty shoot-outs to Holland.

Euro 2008
Sweden qualified below Spain to reach the finals of Euro 2008. They defeated reigning champions Greece in their first game, but lost next both matches to be eliminated from the tournament.
