UEFA Euro Team Watch – Poland

                                              
Poland is placed in Group A in this European Championship. Being one of the hosts of the competition, they want positive results to start the campaign. Poland is expected to do better this time with relatively easier group and the home support.

Past Records in Euro
Poland marked their first appearance in Euro in 2008. The qualifying campaign was great for the Polish team as they edged Portugal to the top spot. Ebi Smolarek was their top scorer with 9 goals. Finishing the qualifiers at the top of the table, they were placed in a group that consisted Germany, Austria and Croatia. They could not make it to the next stage in the campaign.

He is considered the second youngest player in Poland to score in his debut. Just after three weeks after his 20th birthday in 2008, he made the senior team debut and scored as a sub.
2011/12 season has been good for him, as he finished pinned his place in the team as 3rd top scorer in German Bundesliga and won the title with Borussia Dortmund.
